Entrants were asked to provide details of how the company started with an idea, product or service and went from inception through the stages of growth to success and continued growth. The company will also be asked to provide examples of how its leadership embodies the entrepreneurial spirit through risk taking, vision, passion, tenacity and creativity.

Small Business of the Year Award

This award was designed for companies which have roughly twenty employees or less. The criteria focused on the demonstration of sound business strategies and practices, overcoming challenges, customer service strategies, employee relations, business growth and performance, and community involvement. The company was asked to describe how it develops and leverages its limited resources, including personnel, to accomplish its mission and goals.

Innovation Award

As our economy evolves, innovation and technology are key drivers for business success in the 21st Century. The Innovation Award was judged based on how technology or innovation makes a difference in our finalists’ businesses and in our communities.

Business of the Year

The Business of the Year award is given to the company that demonstrates all-round excellence in business. The judging focused on financial performance, the competitive advantage of the business, and company growth.

Chamber Advocate Award

The Chamber Advocate Award is designed to recognize extraordinary service to the community through the Chamber of Commerce, including being a Chamber advocate in the community, willingness to serve at various levels of leadership, and overall contribution over an extended period of time.

 

2012 Legacy Award

The Legacy Award is the highest award presented by the Davis Chamber and its board of directors for service and leadership in the Davis County Community. The Legacy Award is presented to a profound leader or organization which has provided extraordinary service to the community, state, and/or nation on behalf of Davis County. The Legacy Award is designed to recognize those whose lifetime of service to the residents of Davis County will impact our community for years to come. They are the kind of people who leave a wonderful “Legacy” for those who follow. Receiving the Award on behalf of Hill Air Force Base was General Busch.
